Both for-life prizes are annuities guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years. If the winner dies inside that period, the balance of the guaranteed payments goes to their beneficiary or estate. The single cash payout can be taken instead — the choice is final and cannot be reversed — and where more than one ticket wins the same for-life tier, the cash payout is the only option.
